The state’s agriculture department said dozens of dogs in northern Michigan, were killed by a mysterious illness. The mysterious illness is mainly killing puppies under the age of two.
Fatigue, loss of appetite, and diarrhea are some symptoms of the mysterious illness. The ailment spreads basically through faeces and is highly infectious to pets.
More than 30 dogs have died because of the mysterious illness. It is advised by officials to keep your dogs home, try not to take them to dog parks, and try not to walk them.
The investigation was still in the early stages, however, some samples that had been sent for testing returned positive for canine parvovirus. Canine parvovirus type 1 was first reported in military canines having symptoms like diarrhea
Michigan’s agriculture department is working with other state and federal bodies, nearby vets, and neighborhood animal control bodies to study more about the mysterious illness.
It has been said that it is not contagious to people or other animals.
