WhatsApp will stop working on Millions of Phones

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, will soon no longer be available on certain older models of iPhone and Android phones.

As of December 31, users with 49 specific makes of phone, including the iPhone 5 and 5c and various models from Samsung, Huawei, and LG, will be unable to use the app unless they upgrade their device.

In a statement, WhatsApp explained that the decision to stop supporting these devices was made due to the fact that they may not have the latest security updates or necessary functionality to run the app. The company also stated that it regularly reviews the operating systems it supports and updates accordingly, as technology and software constantly change.

If you are using an older model of iPhone and wish to continue using WhatsApp, you can update your operating system by going to the “general” settings and selecting “software update.” “To update their operating system, Android phone users should contact their device manufacturer for specific instructions.”
